Noah Mason is the Sole Survivor of Survivor: Persia. He later returned to compete on Survivor: All-Stars.
He is known for his strategy of forming many friendships which helped him become more approachable for alliances, and flying under-the-radar to further himself in the game.
After voting out many potential threats when the two tribes merged, he won the final two Individual Immunity challenges of the game, helping him reach the finals. His confidence (which was met by one as arrogance), social game, as well as his decision to bring Adam Cahoon with him to the Final Tribal Council, earned him the title of Sole Survivor.
Noah returned to compete on Survivor: All-Stars, where a subsequent lack of communication between him and his allies ultimately cost him the game.
Profile[]
Name (Age): Noah Mason (16)
Current Residence: Lincoln, Nebraska
Personal Claim to Fame: Being cast into a play despite not attending the callbacks when I was supposed to.
Inspiration in Life: My mother. Since 2003, she's been the only parent I've got, and a decade later, she still never fails to disappoint when it comes to being a good parent, who always wants the very best of her family.
Hobbies: Hanging out with friends, acting and competitive forensics.
Pet Peeves: Hypocrites, liars and people who have "swag."
3 Words to Describe You: Confident, fun and driven.
If You Could Have 3 Things on The Island What Would They Be And Why? Food, water and shelter. Would this be considered cheating?
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Greg Buis for his wackiness and likability.
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: I want to explore the world, and participate in the adventure of a lifetime. I want to escape life in the Midwest, and also want to get the chance to meet people who feel the same way as I do, even if it means having to sit in front of a computer for thirty nine days.
Why You Think You'll "Survive" SURVIVOR: I am an entertaining, dependable and trustworthy person, someone everyone wants in there lives. I also have a passion for the performing arts, and acting is one of my favorite things to do. I'm also very smart, and when these traits combine into one, you get me, and the reason why I will "survive" Survivor.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole Survivor: Because I only think of the positives when it comes to situations like this, never the negatives. It's because I do this, I can picture many different possibilities for me to climb the mountain, and win the game.
Survivor: Persia[]
Noah started out on the Shiraz tribe. Quickly as the game began, he was invited into "Princes of Persia," which was a cross-tribe alliance consisting of half of the castaways playing the game. His tribe saw early success in the game, winning the first two Immunity Challenges. However, their brief winning streak ended as Shiraz lost the third challenge, sending them to their first Tribal Council. It was here, however, where Abraham Lee had decided to remove himself from the game, effectively canceling Tribal Council that evening.
On Day 12, a Reward Challenge took place that would determine the team captains of the two tribes. Alfons Hettig and Nokomis Larsen won for Shiraz and Persepolis, respectively. It was then revealed that a Schoolyard Pick would take place to determine new tribes. Nokomis's first pick was Noah, and he was sent to Persepolis. Noah then selected Adam to remain on Persepolis. As the Schoolyard Pick came to an end, the new Persepolis won the following Immunity Challenge, keeping Noah safe.
When the next Immunity Challenge took place, it was revealed that both tribes would be going to Tribal Council and only one person would be safe from both tribes respectively. Noah would end up defeating everyone on the new Persepolis tribe to win this challenge, making him immune from the vote. Before Tribal Council, Nokomis and Noah exchanged heated words towards one another. Alex Taylor comforted an angered Noah, and the two agreed to vote together to get rid of Nokomis. It was due to the negative attitude of Nokomis that led to his unanimous vote out by his tribe. Izaak Lynch had previously been voted out of the new Shiraz tribe.
After the double Tribal Council, it was revealed that the tribes merged on Day 19. It was named Einzelne by Brian Long, which stood for "individual" in German. For the first challenge as a merged tribe, the castaways would be paired up and would compete together for Immunity. Noah was paired up with ally Brian. However, the two came in second place. The outsider, Liam Mcindoe, was voted out at the first Tribal Council as a merged tribe, becoming the first member of the Jury.
It was here since the elimination of Alfons where the members of the Princes of Persia alliance began to turn on one another, and the creation of multiple sub-alliances and core alliances was formed to oust one another. Noah was invited into the "Masters Alliance" to eliminate Mikey Van Riper, in which they were successful in doing. It was also at this Tribal Council where Zeke Browne was ejected from the game, shortening the field down to seven castaways.
After the elimination of the two castaways, the "The 5 Amigos" alliance was formed, to in which had consisted of Adam, Alex, Brian, Noah and Stephane. This would become the core alliance of Survivor: Persia. After Connor Finton won his third consecutive Immunity Challenge, Alex and Noah had agreed that Brian had become a very large social threat in the game, to in which they flipped and blindsided the founder of this (as well as many other) alliances throughout the course of the game.
The winning streak of Connor came to an end as Alex won the following Immunity Challenge. It had been obvious that Connor would be the next to go, as agreed by the remaining members of The 5 Amigos. However, due to suspicion of a possible idol, the remaining members of the alliance agreed that they would split the votes between Connor and Jordan. Noah voted for Jordan. Connor ended up playing the idol, as Jordan ultimately received the majority vote that sent him home. The alliance again worked together to prevent Connor from winning the following Individual Immunity challenge. Alex would win again, and Connor was voted out at the next Tribal Council, leaving only four of The 5 Amigos left standing in the game.
It became clear that the alliance would turn on one another. Noah, realizing that he had been the last original member of Shiraz, feared that Adam, Alex and Stephane would form an alliance to vote him out at the next chance they could. Though still placing his trust in Alex, he viewed it as a two-on-two game. Leaving the thought of an all-original Persepolis member alliance in mind, Noah won his second Individual Immunity challenge (his first one being a member of Einzelne) to remove all possible superstition. At Tribal Council, Alex and Noah voted together to eliminate Adam, while Adam and Stephane voted together to eliminate Alex. With the votes tied, it went down to Noah and Stephane having to participate in a re-vote. It was here when Noah had declared that "it had been time for him to stop thinking with his heart and with his head," as he voted out his closest ally and biggest threat in Alex.
Adam, Noah and Stephane participated in the Rites of Passage on their way to the Final Immunity Challenge of Survivor: Persia, to in which Noah won, securing him a spot at the Final Tribal Council. Realizing that Stephane could possibly become a larger threat for Jury votes, Noah decided to vote him out, leaving only Adam and Noah left as the Final Two.
The following day, the two faced the Jury at the Final Tribal Council. Noah told the Jury that they should vote for him to become the Sole Survivor because he felt as though he played a better game than his fellow finalist, saying that his initial strategy was to fly under-the-radar to make himself not a threat at all, and relying on his social skills and friendly persona to help him salvage the game until he, in his words, "showed his true potential," by making a big move when he had to. However, Noah received negative criticism from; Brian, saying how neither Adam or Noah deserved to be sitting as the Final Two (though he had an initial thought that Noah would be receiving his vote), Jordan, deeming him as too arrogant in his opening speech and response, and Stephane, saying how he had sucked up to the Jury too much.
When the final vote came in, Noah would receive votes from Alex, Brian, Connor, Liam, Mikey and Stephane, proclaiming him as the fourth Sole Survivor in a 6-1 vote, only losing the vote of Jordan.
